Lone Jack Conservation Area: The thrill is in the chill
Set up a lawn chair, cast a line or take in a sunset at this refuge in Eastern Jackson County.
There are no official trails at Lone Jack Conservation Area. And it’s not technically not in Lone Jack. But what you will find is 295 acres of solitude. You probably won’t have the place entirely to yourself – but it’ll be close. The centerpiece of the area is the 35-acre Lone Jack Lake. It’s surrounded by 125 acres of timber and more acres of rolling meadows. If you want a quiet place to just “be,” then this is it. The area is open for exploration, but you’ll be bushwhacking, so prepare for thorns and thistles. Restricted hunting is allowed in season.
